Stock Market Talk about a roller coaster ride. If you have investments in the stock market you know what I mean. Recent indicators point to a recession within the US and the dip in dollar value has caused a ripple effect worldwide. Those with strong stomachs ride the wave and hope the decline is short lived while those with stronger stomachs take advantage of the dip and buy on the low. The stock market is a reflection of society. People who fear their financial security spend less while businesses of all sizes take stock of their present financial health and either lay low by freezing hiring, spending less on infrastructure and equipment or worse scenario close shop. As business folks ourselves, we can either buy into the sky is falling mentality, perpetuated by the political campaigns, or have a stronger stomach and take advantage of the times we're in. Your community is rife in stressed individuals and corporations with people of all walks of life fearing the news and often adversely reacting by tightening up producing the myriad of symptoms so related to stress. Compound this with corporate uneasiness reducing employee morale and productivity. Does chiropractic have an answer to both these dilemmas, you bet. It's all a matter of realization and offering a conservative solution. Individual dilemmas result in chronic defensive posturing producing adhesions and neurological instability. Corporate dilemmas produce employee physical and emotional wear and tear resulting from repetitive physical and mental activity. The solutions are the same, first awareness followed by correction. The same is true for every new patient with consultation, evaluation, report of findings and treatment. If you are cognizant of the need you will hopefully provide a solution. Doctor, 2008 will be your most successful year if you realize that you are part of the solution and refuse to continue the part of the status quo. 2008 will be your most successful if you take baby steps and focus on the four dynamics of community demographics; residential, retail, clerical and labor and provide a biomechanical/chiropractic solution to the usual and customary pressure found within each. 2008 will be your most successful if you can reach the decision makers and offer educational and treatment solutions for their physical needs realizing that each is unique, whether related to ergonomics, micro trauma, aging and more. The variables of the stock market make it an area that only the wise and aware should tread. Most people need assistance bobbing and weaving through the maze of stocks and bonds. Mutual funds have managers while serious individual investors hire brokers. So why not hire a broker for our Health and Wellness. Considering the complexity of the body and considering that without interference it should work as intended, someone should be monitoring the interference especially at the physical level. If that is not within our job description, than I've been outside my world for 30 years. Fear not the stock market and the ups and downs of the financial whims of the day, we are masters of our fate and considering that others need and will desire our services with knowledge and appreciation, the answer for a great year is simple, tell the chiropractic story as often and to as many people as possible and be ready to provide the best service you can Have a Great Day Dr. M Postings: Practice for sale in Apex, NC: Atlas Orthogonal office, Activator and Cox techniques also used.
