Recharging Had a few days off last week traveling three hours outside Washington, DC to a lake house in Virginia. Great time to chill out and decompress with water all around. Yes, recharging and getting your mental energy back is vastly underrated so I recommend you do so regularly. A quick trip here and there, an extended weekend or just finding a quiet time each day may suffice. Seems when I was younger and my batteries were always recharging, a few weekend seminars or a DE or Parker was enough to rekindle the enthusiasm and purpose of chiropractic for me and to realize that I was not alone in our battle for the hearts and minds of our fellow citizens. Doctor, when was the last time you had a time-out? The last time you spent quality time with family and friends leaving office stuff in the office? Last time you scheduled a mini or extended vacation that jumpstarts your emotional and physical energy or the last time you decided to leave the office management decisions to the experts and attended a seminar or hired a consultant/coach? There are many professionals that spend time we haven't researching how best to manage staff, patients and office routine. These consultants have heard every conceivable issue that you think is unique to you and came up with simple and cost effective solutions. If your energy is draining faster than the money you place in savings, I advise you to take time to investigate the best coach for you. I mention this because as a profession we are overwhelmed with unending minutia, such as insurance craziness and underpayments, an intermittent staff crisis, patient management issues not to mention the grind of everyday life. Therefore, handling this is he first step to recharging prior to draining or burn out. All consultants are not a fit for everyone. Check my webpage: www.chirosmart.net and click on the area titled weblinks. You'll find website of most if not all our professional consultants and ask if they offer a free or discounted weekend. I occasionally share with doctors during Fernandez Seminars in Atlanta. If you have never attended this great weekend seminar, you can always attend as my guest for free. Just call them at 1-800-882-4476 and let them know you are attending as my guest. You can check their schedule at: www.drfernandez.com Recharge now! Have a Great Day Dr. M Postings: Dr. Joel E. I am paying my associate to work Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (10 hours per day) at a rate of $350 per day. On those days he sees anywhere from 15-25 patients. Each patient gets therapy, therex\man therapy, and an adjustment. He also works Saturday from 10-1 at a rate of $175...he will see 10-15 patients on this day. Total salary at this rate is $63,700 per year. I pay no other expenses. No health insurance, no malpractice, he chooses not to contribute to IRA, etc. So am I over/underpaying? Am I on par? What is the average hourly or weekly salary for an associate in the NNJ area. Reply to: DocBones7@aol.com
