Quality Equals Quantity Proper and above average service reflects highly on the character and nature of a business and its personnel. As chiropractors and healthcare professionals, we are in a highly competitive and service industry. As such and as our practice grows, we chase the quantity of patients while never slipping in quality service. Successful doctors easily slide from practice promotion to practice and patient management with service the goal. Doctors who watch their statistical numbers slide often find their first panic reaction was to increase the impression of extra service by adding additional time for each patient visit and reinforcing the service attitude of their staff. The successful practice never compromises on quality patient attention and service allowing the quantity to build out of it. This makes perfect sense. So why are so many doctors finding ways to increase their numbers from the outside rather than concentrating on increasing the quality of patient care and attention building a strong base of patient compliance and satisfaction. This simple and inexpensive method of practice building requires only a few ingredients. Quality time and attention is given to every patient, education is not an exception, financial agreements for proper care schedules are always offered, staff is competently trained for their technical and people skills and regular meetings hone in on patients that are ripe for referrals and non-compliance. We expect our statistics to keep climbing and referrals to keep pouring in so our level of expectancy runs high. But if our level of expectancy is not matched with our level of continued excellent service our numbers will shortly be reflective and reduce. If you keep regular staff meetings and review office statistics and trends, your quick tweaking or overhauling practice management never allows the numbers to slip too low or quality service to be overlooked. Instead, you adjust your practice with the same seriousness as you adjust your patients. But if lately, you have not been as keen and serious with each patient adjustment, donšt be surprised if your office adjustments need new coding as well.
