Q: Dr. M I just wanted to let you know I have appreciated your e-mails and your newsletter. I have a question that I knew you could answer. I have been approached by AOL to do ergonomic seminars they also want to start a wellness program they also want a consulatant for ergonomics. What kind of fees should I charge. The "Brown Bag Lunches" would be free but what about consulting?? Thanks for your help. A: Great for you .. if you wish to be pofessional about this .. write a proposal .. what you can offer them .. a timetable of when you can do it .. how often you wish to return for more services .. and the timetable for structured (not free "brown bag") workshops. You can charge as low as $100 a day for 2-3 hours of your time .. the real payoff will be new patients. Create awareness of yourself with a number of mini-health fairs .. postural screenings .. stress evaluations .. (in alliance with a health spa or health food store) wellness and exercise .. or wellness and nutrition .. in other words a number of exciting on-going programs. You can also .. as a consultant (determine what you will be consulting on) .. a walk through ergonomic evaluation ($100 a day includes your report to their HR team .. or $500 a day plus report .. use judgement .. if they are hungry the larger fee is cheap) .. pre-employment screenings .. safety evaluations .. OR BEST YET .. time set aside by you to evaluate every employee interested with a mini-screening .. and an option to offer care at a reduced package fee .. possibly an experimental progarm of fitness .. walking .. with the gym .. nutrition .. chiropractic .. a six-eight week program and report back to HR .. this would be restricted to a number of employees only .. Work on this .. if you have a proposal sent it to me and we'll polish it together Dr. M Reply 2: PROPOSAL FOR CHIROPRACTIC INCLUSION IN THE Dr. M Thank you for your reply about the proposal for AOL. This is what I put together what do you think? Thanks for all you do, How do you find the time? I greatly appreciate your love and support for those of us out here that feel like an island ! Dr. Sherri WELLNESS PROGRAM AT AMERICA ON LINE This is a proposal for Chiropractic services, done by Dr. Sherri to be included into the wellness program at America On Line. Future services would include pre-employment physicals, on location chiropractic adjustments. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you might have. A: This was my reply to above: I made some changes .. this will give you some more to work with. You may be cutting them off with fees .. if you can have a global fee for a number of programs within a month it would be better. Often corporations are concerned about security .. if they are not .. use a camcorder to video the workstation and show this at a safety meeting .. or take 35 mm slides to show at a later date. Also .. you have to come up with a solution to get people off line .. away from their desk .. I find out how many mangers or supervisors are tere .. how many employees per person and then ask for 3-5 per person and create a 25-30 per max per class .. I'd do two per day .. with a 15-20 minute break in between. To enhance it even better .. be prepared to do your screening following your class .. "Those interested can have their postural evaluation at the conclusion of this workshop .. just take your survey to room 103." It would be great if you had others doing this for you. If not ..schedule the screening s for these folks while they are hot .. either in your office or at the time you scheduled to return there for these screenings. The informational time .. is having a large table set out during the lunch break .. have handouts .. and do blood pressure checks as well as have them fill out surveys and get screened if you can do this as well. This time is for exposure .. once they see you and you are not pushing them to do anything .. they will come around.
