Q: Thank you for recently posting my request regarding my search for a back safety video for policemen. I still have been unsuccessful in locating a video, but have received a lot of interest from other chiros searching for the same thing. So, I thought I would pass along a web address for anyone interested in videos on back safety for FIREMEN. http:\\www.efilmgroup.com A: Personally .. I wouldn't get so involved with the research etc .. just think of the role of a police person .. must be quick .. flexible .. able to be fit and be responsive .. ability to withstand the movements of the job with heavy weight around their waist .. stress galore .. divorce in the high digits .. frame this as your topic .. tag chiropractic as a method to relate structure with function .. demonstrate or illustrate the mechanics of the spine and the wear and tear exerted by their job description ..which also includes their physical level of work and there you have an hour class. By the way .. create a few handouts and get it placed on a transparency (Kinko's does them) and purchase a cheap overhead projector and bingo .. you are set. When I was student at Life over 20 years ago I established my student clinic by providing stress workshops to the local police academy ..usually 35 students per class. I used the same format ...
