As chiropractors we are first healers but as a business manager, we best teach and heal and be there throughout the lifecycle of our patients. To gather their family and friend referrals, we have to strike the right buttons of concern dependent on every aspect of their life. Literally from cradle to grave we have an opportunity to tap into their physical and neurological concerns. Oh, yes, we know the concerns but do they? Are they concerned about the spinal health for their newborn? Probably not, they probably have no idea why they should. Are they concerned how their spine will be stressed during pregnancy and both husband and wife additionally stressed while lifting the baby carriers and lugging them around all day? Probably not, they probably have no idea why they should. Are parents concerned about their toddler and teenager's posture, physical activities, healthy nutrition habits and social esteem all related to neurological health and physical balance? Probably not, they probably have no idea why they should. Are they aware of the ergonomic factors related to their specific job responsibilities or everyday housework? How it relates to structural and neurological stress creating functional stress and a myriad of subjective complaints? Probably not, they probably have no idea why they should. Are they conscious of their sports or lack of activities that on the surface seems a great idea but physically may be irritating their specific structure? Probably not, they probably have no idea why they should. How about the daily grind of gaining and losing weight, multiple trips to the drug store or better yet the local health food store. You think they are aware of what is literally is in store for them with prolonged pharmaceutical use or taking poorly assimilated supplements? Probably not, they probably have no idea why they should. Does the senior citizen have a clue why chiropractic is crucial for them to maintain their mobilityand have a sense of control when their body begins to function with ease rather than chronic dis-ease?
