Jumpstart your practice Jump start Everyday you have the opportunity to jumpstart your practice and boost the numbers in all areas of patient management. Consider the number of interactions you and your staff have with each patient, the number of times you have to stimulate referrals or set up community events. Everyday is a new day and a new time to create awareness and excitement for your office and chiropractic. For starters, the best morale boost is a busy day. If every moment of your office day were full of patients and cost effective paperwork, you would be flying high. The name of the game is combining quality downtime with quality work time. If you can recharge your batteries while charging your practice what could be better. So, get to work and determine the time spent on an average day and how much of this time is quality time and how much is literally wasted just trying to make it to the final hour. If you have to stimulate new patients, then time spent determining the best demographic punch for your dollar would be a start. Where, when and who will you approach and how can your pull it off. Look around the office neighborhood and determine what category of humankind could benefit from your work. Determine next, where can you reach the most people at the same time, with the same ³quality² insurance and with similar physical and emotional issues. Tailor a presentation to these employees, community advocates or the general public. Create an introductory presentation in written letter, e-mail, fax, Powerpoint or whatever floats your boat. Gather names and contact information and send the message out that you are ready and willing to provide educational information, postural screenings, meet one and one and provide them with information and answers they sorely need. In other words be an advocate towards your success and leave less to chance. Second, look within. How much money do people nationwide spend on esoterical programs? Lots. People are always searching for improvement and to rid themselves of layers of stress and self-doubt. Cottage industries has evolved over the past 30 years helping others find themselves and provide a venue to vent or reduce their load. A clear path is always there, you just need to lighten the weeds and clear the brush. This is also true within your office. Whether you are top heavy with staff or have a simple one CA and doctor office, the same is true, probably way too much quantity and far less quality of production time. This is a business and as such business sense dictates quality is paramount and production is the end result. Keeping statistics is a method of determining if weeds have overwhelmed your path to success. Look within and spend time reviewing if every phase of patient care and management is handled correctly and efficiently. Determine if your patients are slipping through the cracks and if both complacency and ignorance has let this happen. Clean up the mess and clear your path so you can jumpstart your practice everyday.
