It's a matter of value During this past weekend's Fernandez seminar, I was speaking for two hours with the chiropractic assistants. The titles of my two-hour class were What is Chiropractic and Marketing for the CA. One of the girls asked why their screenings are so successful but often few potential new patients follow up for their free office exam. I bet this is a problem across our profession and very frustrating when your screenings or one on one discussion seems very productive while the end result is not. Ask five chiropractors what they would do to stem the tide of disappointment and I bet you'll get five opinions. Nonetheless, the basic problem for all follow through questions is Value. Every marketing or study regime not followed through dies on the vine. If the class being studied were valuable for your future, then every effort would be made to see that the end result was positive and your studies were productive. A few extra hours with the books, a call to a friend for advice or better yet a stronger commitment on your part to see that there is zero failure. It holds true for marketing. If the person assigned to share the good news about chiropractic is overwhelmingly strong in their belief that chiropractic is a great addition to everyone's health and wellness regime, they will do what must be done to get the point across in a ethical and professional manner draped in value for every period of their communities lifecycle. Best for children during their growing years; best for teenagers with physical and emotional stress that these years contain; best for adults with the responsibilities of providing and nurturing a family while accumulating chronic structural stress issues and best for our senior citizens to help with the dignity of aging and mobility. A person armed with knowledge of this, able to pinpoint the buttons to push on each individual and having a knack to make their feelings known will reduce the no shows to close to zero. Not because they have the super gift for gab, but because they have the super gift of self-assurance and knowledge that they speak the truth and the person they are speaking to may benefit greatly.
