Holiday Cheer It is getting close to the holiday season of Thanksgiving, Christmas, Chanukah, Kwansa and the New Year. Many of you find this time of year inspiring and invigorating with various in and out of office promotions. If you have been anticipating this holiday period and prepared various promotional activities you are way ahead of the game and you will find a new crop of willing patients to carry you over to the new year. A creative team with staff and patients often stimulates ideas while assisting your community in a food drive, offering needy children toys and providing complimentary evaluations for the cost of cans of food or donations to a charity. What better way to open the welcome door for new patients while creating awareness for your office within the community. It is not too late to get it together. The first step is preparation, so decide who will be responsible to implement the program. Next, decide what promotions, charities and cost effective ways to disseminate the information. Possibly you want a Community Open House, a Patient Appreciation Day, a week or two of collecting donations so patients can also help provide for the needy while introducing referrals for a complimentary examination for a charitable donation. If Thanksgiving is too soon to get it together, the period between this holiday and the next will work fine. Establish community relations by asking local vendors for door prizes. Neighborhood restaurants, movies theaters, lube facilities, fast food emporiums, health clubs, health food stores and more to widen your exposure of your office and chiropractic. Collect their e-mail addresses and include them in future community e-mail newsletters. Second step is to advertise. Consider this another Apprentice project. Donald Trump gives you a challenge to promote a food and donation raising event and the team that provides the most donations and new clients from the community wins. Our clients are patients ready to win their freedom from pain and dysfunction. What a win. This challenge also must not break the bank. A reasonable budget should be discussed and adhered to. Word of mouth is best, so everyone should be ready to discuss and explain and request referrals and participation. Be sure to invite the vendors if a special day is in the offering or send them a thank you note for their help in the door prizes, which stimulated many to participate. So, put on your thinking caps and get to work, Thanksgiving may be too soon, but the time between now and the New Year is just around the corner Have a Great Day Dr. M Postings: LUCC student exam intern needed in metro Atlanta: Responsibilities include patient exams, exercise and patient education.
