Q: What do you think of corporate chiropractic? Specifically I mean going to the work place (industry, warehouse etc) with my equipment (table, masseter, activator, drop peice etc) and performing chiropractic consultations? Is this happening in the States? I know it is not really happening here. Only massage therapist work in the corporate sector in Australia. Do you think it would work?I'd be interested in your thoughts. A: Corporate networking is a viable idea if you have the proper connections with the powers that be. I would suspect a liability concern for some companies thinking that any harm to an employee on a company endorsed property holds them liable to lawsuits as well. Yes we have malpractice insurance but larger corporations may run the idea through their legal dept. and they may be concerned. Therefore .. any connection with someone in the company without going deeper into the corporate structure is best. Obviously .. having a facility closer to an employee base makes it easier for them to get their adjustments .. so the idea is great. I doubt if it is happening in any big way here .. best to find a location closer but not within a corporate facility. Now .. if you want to have screenings and evaluations this is something different and utilized quite often here in the states. Workshops and evaluations are quite common but having a clinic in the facility is not. I recommend you begin a campaign of creating a database of local office and labor settings .. especially where you present patients work. Compile a letter of purpose and send them to the safety .. company human resource or employee benefit person which will provide a menu of your programs and corporate services. Call them after the letters go out and attempt to provide some ergonomic programs to get your name out. Evaluations will be included or follow these programs. Check my webpage under Practice Tips .. I have my seminar notes concerning Community Workshops or something like that.
