Webpage Information: For those new to my weekly e-mails .. I¼ve added over 75 names within the 
last three weeks (please send me the e-mail addresses of your chiropractic friends or let your state 
association or school newspaper know about my e-mail address so they can publish it and others 
can contact me and be added to my weekly e-mail list which reaches over 3200 DC¼s in 26

E-mail message this week: 1998 .. Year of Chiropractic

If you were asked to create a retrospect of 1998 .. the Year In Chiropractic .. what would you 
write .. where would you begin .. who would you add .. what factors affected you regionally and 
nationally .. what crisis fires were we putting out and what new horizons were we witnessing. 
This would be quite a task. 

If I were to ask you to create the same for your office and then ask you to independently request 
the same from each staff member .. what would be written? How about your patients .. have you 
had such as impact on their lives that they too can write about their life before and with chiropractic 
care? .. how their care has had an impact on others .. their spouse .. children .. relatives .. friends 
.. school board .. political decisions??? 

I remember an English composition assignment .. in one paragraph write your obituary .. now that 
was a huge task .. especially for me .. you know I can¼t just write one paragraph (not even enough 
room for the dots ..).  Summarizing your life .. deciding what to add and delete .. where you made 
a mark on society and considering those best leaving out .. all in a few sentences. Doctor .. can 
you capsulize your chiropractic year on a pinhead or do you need a ream of paper? .. this goes to 
you students as well .. 

The staff .. what would they write? Were they given an opportunity to be a part of their patient¼s 
progress .. their patient¼s referrals .. their office atmosphere of serving and increasing their 
patient¼s health potential?

The patients .. have they had an opportunity to nurture their inner child with less neurological 
interference .. has their mind been tweaked with new knowledge about health issues and the 
potential of chiropractic care .. have they been armed with information so they too can assist their 
family and friends .. were they able to write the impact chiropractic has made on them and others?

How about your community .. the Farm (as I call it .. 5-10 miles around your office) .. has 
chiropractic care had an impact on those living and working there? Can you drive around your 
„Farm¾ and determine if the large warehouse or small Mom and Pop retail store would best be 
served if they too knew about ergonomics .. stress management .. and the ability to adapt and 
increase production both material and human with subluxation management and decreased human 
wear and tear? Who else is best served with new or increased knowledge of your product .. 
chiropractic .. better health .. increased potential? Do you think the Post Office .. school teachers .. 
police and fireman .. municipal employees .. union members .. garbage collectors .. delivery 
drivers .. clerical workers .. retail floor employees .. flight attendants and pilots .. members of the 
armed forces .. people attending houses of worship .. specialty groups catering to their needs .. 
women¼s or garden clubs .. who else .. students .. parents .. mothers and fathers .. brothers and 
sisters .. did I cover everyone? Well .. you drive around and see if chiropractic made an impact on 
any of these or those I didn¼t mention. If not .. well .. you have your work cut out for you in 
1999.
