Value As I re-write a number of my overhead lectures to Powerpoint, I am renewing my thoughts and adding pertinent information that would benefit the listener as well as myself. Since one of my upcoming lectures concerns spinal screenings, I thought about the one frustrating factor that accompanies these events. I dear say that if you have screened the public in any capacity you have run across people that tell you they will come to the office for a further examination but never do. Just imagine evaluating 20-30 people and over half scheduled themselves to come for a further review. Since the idea was attracting potential new patients, you hit the jackpot. But have you? If statistics are to be accepted, then the numbers that actually come for their examination is pitiful. I know, a few of you reading this think Išm crazy, you possibly have the magic words and touch that makes you the Pied Piper of chiropractic and people follow your advice right into the office and adjusting room. But for the rest of us humble souls, the statistics are real. But they donšt have to be. The one step that eludes many doctors doing quick screening evaluations is placing a value on what they had to offer. You already know the quality of care you will provide, the benefits waiting the person that stands before you, and you also realize that once they come to the office and meet your CA and see the gizmos and gadgets that make up your office, they will stay and be plugged into the family of patients you honorable help. Am I right, sure. But did that message ever reach the potential patient you screened or did it wander around your psyche never to pass your lips. This is our dilemma. How to reach a person during an evaluation and how to get your message out without compromise. So, what is it you are offering and how serious did you find the person you screened? How important is it for them to seek a more through examination and begin the journey towards health and wellness with that first chiropractic adjustment? Come now, you did reveal the secrets of chiropractic, that the body performs better without nerve interference, that a few changes during their daily routine can reduce the surge of physical and emotional wear and tear and you did show them the reality of nerve interference by revealing the matrix of the nervous system as you related structure to function. If you missed these, you probably missed them. People sense value and fear the unknown. They will gravitate to the well of wellness if shown the way.
