For sale Spinal Decompression Belt Patent E-mail message this week .. a thought here and there After my sharing within a recent Dr. Fernandez's seminar, a chiropractor stopped me in the hallway and asked if I did all that I spoke about. The class he was curious about was my Creating Professional Alliances. The ideas within this one hour class alone, if implemented, would insure a successful and bountiful professional life for anyone following through. Not to mention the additional four hours of class I focused on including public relations and community and corporate marketing. But the question remains, why do most of us hang around the corners of success or failure, doing either very little or explosively doing a great deal. You tell me. Your thoughtful answer may well be your practice salvation. I read this week an article in one of our professional journals about how to succeed in failure. How best to have a smooth landing if you lose the desire to be a DC by either burning out amongst the insurance and patient hassles and/or the hustle to keep a practice full with patients. Even if there are many in this dilemma, our journals should lead the horse to water not to the drought ridden stream. Granted, the article salvaged itself but really, should we throw out anchors to those floundering or a hook to get them out faster? Anchors are my answer with a ring of hope with simple action steps to create a financially sound and successful practice. Too many hooks are pulling in the weak amongst us, sad for sure. This proves one point, rather than comparing yourself to your colleagues, you should dwell on your strengths. We are amongst poor communicators who have success with the hands. We are amongst wealthy doctors who created the Taj Mahal of an office only to find it following in the footsteps of its namesake .. a Mausoleum. Gorgeous on the outside, but a tomb inside. We are amongst those who have a way with people and like the pied piper, lead them to years of care with multiple referrals. There are so many varieties of personalities within our profession that no cookie cutter technique or marketing tool fits all. We, you, must look for the common thread and focus on that. The common thread is the adjustment and whether crude to others but a work of art to you, if hard bone moves off soft tissue and you can persuade people within your community to make the subtle or drastic physical changes for the proper reason, you will succeed and rekindle the spark that sent you to chiropractic school. Start slow, baby action steps to turn things around. Keep the flame hot if you are already on the right track and during your next staff meeting acknowledge those that got you and keep you there. Chiropractors are an interesting breed. We deserve more than we get and much more respect. As a group we must circle the wagons and leave none of us behind. Lift a colleague up or direct them in the right direction. Ask for help if you need it or keep up with seminars and educational programs if success is already in hand. Nowhere to turn, e- mail me or the free sharing mentors found on my webpage under Mentors. If you feel you have the gift to assist someone and for free, e-mail me your location and your level of skill and I'll include you as well.
