Q: Well things are still a little crazy. As I'm building up my practice...slowly... I am forced to face a demon on the face...BILLS.. when it all comes down to it, I am not making what I did when I was associating. I went from 700 a week to a strugling 300 an that gets taxed later on...Now Joel, don't get me wrong. My philosophy on life and business is strong and true..I believe that if you spread the chiropractic story the patients will come when the patients come there is more chance to educate them, when there is more education there is more referrals, when there is more referrals there are more patients... and so on and so on.. but the patients are coming in drips and drabs.. the Mon Wed and Fri are paced to the gills with the other doctors patients. This doc has been in this space for over 12 years... My tues thurs and sat. are free to see my patients but I don't have that many to see...SO this leads me finaly to the question of the day...How do you feel about a doc working in two offices??? now look at my situation Mon Wed and Fri are slamed with his 150 a week practice. My tues thurs and sat will stilll be mine and I will work to drive my own numbers up.. But I'm seriously thinkng of looking for something on the mon wed and fri days.... 1) how does this sound to you? 2)Do you know of any docs who are looking for an assocate doc for those three days? 3)Ddo you think i'm crazy for thinking these thoughts??? A: First priority is not to starve. As much as I hate to say this .. the Atlanta area is saturated with DC's compared to the number of people we see. But .. in saying that .. there are more that 85% of people that have been untapped .. yes they work in factories .. warehouses .. office parks .. retail malls .. libaraires .. they stay at home because they have retired .. attend church .. teach on weekends and deliver the mail. I don't think it's crazy to work in two offices .. especially when you do do not have two overheads .. survive .. be happy .. but never let up on creating. Spend some of those week days when you aren't working .. working your farm .. walk the beat .. test the waters with surveys .. provide mini-workshops .. health screenings .. discussions with infomation booths .. creating a community wellness network .. do not let up .. this will be the goal of my ten week program .. to go week by week with assignments that will have to be done .. or you'll know where the blockage is. Remember .. survival first .. experince second .. and reap the rewards after that. Dr. M
