Dr. Margolies¼ thoughts on Guy Riekeman appointed President of LUCC I remember when Dr. Riekeman came to Sherman in the mid 70¼s, bringing with him enthusiasm and energy of chiropractic. He, along with Dr. Joe Felicia, rejuvenated the halls of Sherman with spirit and Spizzerenctum stimulating philosophical thought and to many a Renaissance of established ideas and chiropractic values. Therefore, I was pleased when he was offered and accepted the position of President of his alma mater, Palmer. It seemed a perfect fit. Not privy to the role he played with the expansion of Palmer campuses beyond Davenport, I witnessed further growth, and thought it was in the right direction. I¼m sure he helped raise money for the Palmer campus expansion and was most likely influential by reaching the core adherents of the Palmer heritage. Therefore, it was a shock that he recently resigned and questions arose between him and their Board of Trustees. Being a Life College graduate and former adjunct instructor, I was influenced by another powerful Chiropractic leader, Dr. Sid Williams. Both he and Dr. Riekeman were alum of Palmer and inherited the philosophical roots of B.J. Palmer. Both tried to maintain that heritage while working within the system. Dr. Sid left a marvelous campus and educational institution that will only flourish and grow with the appointment of Dr. Riekeman as President. The story is still out if he can maintain the philosophy and heritage of the Fountainhead while working within the CCE system during this most critical juncture for both. LUCC is anxious to get it's bearings and Dr. Riekeman is ready to set sail. Without a doubt, Palmer's loss is a LUCC gain
