Dear Colleagues and Friends, it is time for the Referral Race again. 
This year we are giving a DVD player for first place and it is 
stimulating a lot of interest. The race is a great promotion, so read 
below to see how we do ours. 

Most families have completed their vacations. It is a good time

to bring the Chiropractic clinic back to full focus( on purpose). 
Four years

ago we started the "Referral Race" to create some excitement and 
break the

monotony.              We use a large piece of plywood and cover it in 
felt

with a race track on it. As patients refer in friends and family we 
take

digital picture of  them sitting in their car, laminate it, cut it out, 
and

Velcro it to the felt race track. We hand out flyers each week to 
the

patients. The first flyer announces that the "Race is On" and it will 
last 6

weeks. The flyer states that the 1st place winner receives a 19" 
color TV,

2nd a cordless phone, and 3rd a phone recorder. We also hand each 
patient a

race card, that allows the patient to refer in friends and family at 
a

substantial reduction in cost. Of course the doctor orally explains 
to each

patient or you will have poor results. Each week we hand out a new 
flyer

stating the race standings(1st,2nd,and 3rd). At the end of the Race 
we have

a "Final Lap Party" during normal adjusting hours. We provide 
snacks and

refreshments and announce who the winners are.                The

interesting thing is that the competition drives the patients as 
much as the

prizes. Seeing their name posted on those flyers, makes them so 
proud.  One

year our 1st place winner immediately gave the TV to his church. 
He just

wanted to say he won.                     Remember, if you do what you

always did, you will get what you always got. Consider stepping 
out of your

comfort zone and breaking the monotony.
