DC in San Jose CA needs a bench with a good pelvic drop LUCC update: LUCC filed a lawsuit and has asked a federal judge to immediately reinstate the institution¼s accreditation credentials. Chiropractic enrollment is now fewer than 300 students, down from nearly 700 in December and 2,600 in June, the suit states. "If accreditation is not restored very quickly, Life's survival will become impossible," the 44- page complaint says. Read the reports from local newspapers on my webpage under Chiropractic News. As far as I am concerned .. the fact that LUCC must wait two years to even reapply for accreditation will be the death of the institution. If this was the original goal of the CCE then it should itself be investigated and should immediately be restrained from active participation in the accreditation process. LUCC has been downsized and demoralized and dethroned of it¼s founder and President. Considering the history of this institution .. thousands of alumni chiropractors .. present infrastructure and the probability to quickly correct deficiencies requires a special fast track re-accreditation policy. Some arrangement must be made and soon! Although .. I appreciate the recent e-mail position of the ACA concerning their support of the CCE (read it on my webpage under Chiropractic News) .. I still feel the CCE made its point quite LOUD and clear .. now with some compassion and institutional correctness .. place the LUCC re- accreditation schedule on a very fast track and delay it no further. Anything else is pure and simple institutional murder. This weeks e-mail message .. Practice Management If it were possible to purchase new patient acquisition and paid someone else to achieve your goals while you reaped the rewards would be great. Whip out your charge card and pick and choose your professional goals while letting others do all the sweat and leg work. Agree to their elaborate ideas and check off one concept after another. If money was plentiful and little regard was paid to budget restraints the sky would only be the limit. Let¼s say this was possible .. and it is .. new patients would be streaming in your office. Yep .. your office would be full of them. Now the ball is handed to you. The trick now is to be assured that these new patients coming through your front door don¼t just as quickly stream out the opposite side as quick as you get them in. Being A Part Of A Process Is Crucial To Its Success As the doctor it is imperative that you never be held hostage to any area of practice management. From CA front desk responsibilities .. patient scripting .. insurance relations .. using each computer program or acquiring new patients the doctor must have a working knowledge to both train and continue the process of management if needed. Do you? A wide open check book and/or freely attending seminars is a great start but there is no side stepping follow through and practical practice sense by you. This is a perfect time to begin anew your efforts to solidify weak areas of practice management. The ringing in of the new year was a wake up call to look at every aspect of practice protocols and tweak or drastically implement procedures that chased new patients away and left others barely getting started to slip away. Review CA knowledge .. written forms and educational material. Create check off procedures for new patient flow .. present patient excitement .. referral seeding .. reactivation programs .. office promotions .. workshops .. community activity .. corporate programs and professional alliances. Although this may seem overwhelming at first glance .. it must not be overlooked. If your office is managed by a hope and a prayer and raw luck .. it may run out. This is no way to run a business. Fortunately we have many professional guides to lead us through this mess. Regional seminars are readily available. The two Parker seminars are a great start as are many of our guru seminar coaches and consultants found in every issue of our professional papers. Since I teach at the Fernandez Seminar in Atlanta I am biased here but every coach helps guide you through the maze of practice growth and sustenance helping you unravel the puzzle of practice management. Last week I mentioned a monthly theme to increase patient acquisition. Have you begun acquiring patient and community e-mail addresses? If not .. why wait. Practice Growth starts with your patients and those they would readily tell the Chiropractic Story to if they only had the tools to do so. Practice management starts at home. There is no easy way out. Have a Great Day Dr. M Postings: Daytona Beach Practice For sale CHEAP: Complete turnkey practice for sell, 50K! All You Have to do is just walk in the door!
