E-mail message this week .. Passing the Torch 

I'd like to pause a moment to remember a fellow chiropractor, Dr. Michael Rappaport, 
dedicated to the principles of chiropractic and formerly teaching this principal as a 
faculty member of LUCC. He will be remembered as a humble and caring soul reaching 
out to others as a leader and mentor within his Temple, a healer and adjuster to his 
patients and as a great Dad and husband.

It's never easy to get the news of a colleagues passing realizing that another bright flame 
has dimmed and left our midst.  He will be missed. But, I have great confidence that there 
are hundreds of doctors he met and touched that have that polished torch of chiropractic 
spirit due to his words of encouragement and wisdom as they tendered their way through 
school. 

Life is a journey and has lessons to teach and be learned and in death the lessons bear 
more truth. We are mortal and at the mercy of the nuances of the day. Our precious body, 
a bundle of chemicals and nerves are prone to stress and physical wear and tear, but we 
grip the steering wheel that weaves with the waves and tweaks with their ebb and flow. 
With each death the departed leave behind a spirit to hold for those left behind. His death 
and the passing of other loved ones we dearly miss leave us with memories and thoughts 
to carry with us. I remember only good and peaceful thoughts of Dr. Mike. He always 
passed the torch of Life and Health and even with his death, I will carry and pass it 
proudly to those I meet and touch as well.
