Q: I will be submitting my first column to the local paper this Friday. Any suggestions? Help? Warnings about disclaimers or references, etc. A: As far as any written material .. be sure to make it open to all .. don't frighten the locals and their respect for their family docs .. also .. be sure there is a map or ease of directions and specific hours that would be available for new patients. If you are offering any discounts there is a board approved and necessary disclaimer that must be included in the article Pick a topic that will interest everyone and will have them look forward for the next column .. have a short Q&A .. even if you choose the Q&A and have a phone number and e-mail so others can ask .. topics should dwell on what interests them .. remember most if not all know what a subluxation is ... get them in the office and educate .. lure them in with the buttons that alert their interest .. Stress .. Wellness .. Neck/Lower Back pain .. etc. Offer a service to garden and women's clubs .. church events ..possibly set aside a time for a general workshop in your office and have the date in the article .. possible future dates and topics Have Fun Dr. M
