Be Merry and Bright A smart move as we wind down the year 2010 is to find a quiet place, during a quiet moment and with the quiet of self, contemplate what was, what is and what will be. Quietly without recrimination of who did or didn't, just go with the inner flow and let the mind speak trying not to interfere as most good things come from less interference. The usual and customary culprit of less rather than more is usually close to you. Look closely in the mirror and take a good look and there you are. Regardless of whom your professional guru is, or the number of seminars you attended this year, or even the pool of dough in your bank account, the lord high executioner of your forward progress is likely you. But, an office with proper management keeps this resistance at bay using a variety of conscious or unconscious skills and those with an ability to manage without intimidation, seeing steps ahead rather than looking back, always has the edge. Doctor, 2010 has been difficult for many of our patients and those within our communities and sad to say, many of us. If I left any message for you during these many years, it was to have courage to go forth and with strength use your skills for the betterment of your community and your bottom line. Has a patient returned for a needed adjustment after a year or so of not getting one? Their reasons may have been finances but their array of spinal components, protecting their cord and nerve fibers, cannot differentiate between a bad financial year and the need to do its job. They return to you because they knew whom to turn for relief and better yet, wellness, if you did your job educating them. They are the many not just a few. Do you have room in a normal day for a few of them, room to give a bit more of yourself and selflessly provide care at a reduced fee for those you feel would benefit. Those special patients who were great when they were financially able and would be an advocate of your goals this time of year. I hope so. Doctors, this is the time of year to reach out and give. Tap into your database of patients that were office favorites and have not been in for over a year. You know who they are and between you and the staff, can probably rationalize why. Reach out to them via e or snail mail or phone and ask how they are doing. Invite them for a complimentary year- end or New Year adjustment, possibly extend it through January. When in your office hone into why they haven't been in. Was it higher insurance co-pays or deductibles or a lack thereof? Have they lost a job, home and therefore some dignity? Well, be their savior for the day and offer them some assistance, possibly timely office visits until they get their feet back on a firmer ground but with a fee they can afford while allowing them to feel they contribute but not straining them financially. Yes, this may stretch your psyche a bit but it opens and frees mine. I know a number of patients and I'll be reaching out to them. I'll decide when they come for their complimentary adjustment and if I want to extend the good tidings further. But for those I do, I'll be compensated in more ways than their cash on hand. Melanie and I were going through our patient files prior to placing those that have not been active in storage and realized that yours was amongst them. We realize that some patients may be having a difficult time, either losing or feeling unsettled with their job, having difficulty with home ownership or just being cautious in this trying economy and keeping discretionary income close to home. This is how many are coping today. I hope this is not your situation. Possibly you moved or your insurance has changed. If this is the case, we'd like to know. Obviously, if there were any upsets with our office, please feel comfortable to discuss this with me, So what can we do during this holiday season, as everyone needs a timely tune-up adjustment? Prior to placing your file in storage, we would like to give you a complimentary, no fee, adjustment before or just after the New Year, sometime in January 2011. Please either reply back to this e-mail (joel3639@aol.com) or call Melanie at 770-491-3639 to schedule this visit. Love to see you soon. Oh, we are always here for you so creating a new file or retrieving yours will not be difficult if the need arises. I recommend monthly visits as maintenance, as this would be the wise thing to do. Also, if a friend or family member would benefit from a complimentary evaluation, be sure to have them call and mention your name prior to January 31.
