SELECTION OF A NEW CLINIC LOCATION

We are asked from time to time have we developed a successful 
criteria for selecting a new office location. There is not a set in 
stone criteria, however we have found the following points need to 
be considered carefully when making your deliberations.

Make sure your office location is near where you want to live, is a 
reflection of who you are, is easy to find and parking is easy, unless 
you practice downtown in a city.

Location, location, location is always paramount.

Every different type and style of practice WORKS!!!!!!!!!! If it is what 
you want and you have a burning desire to succeed there, it will 
happen.

First ask, what do I want?

Once you have written down what it is you REALLY want from your 
practice you will generally get it. Then set about creating a FOR and 
AGAINST list for each practice location you find. Be totally honest 
with yourself when making your lists. If you don't get ALL the 
negatives out on paper you may regret it later.

If there is a special area you wish to specialize in make sure you set 
up in an area that will support you here eg. Downtown CBD practices 
tend not to see many kids or entire families. If this is what you 
want you will usually need to locate in a suburban area of town.

Make sure your rent is fair and reasonable for your area.

Ask your heart, will this location nurture me every day of practice 
life? If the answer if YES and your physiology feels it, you're usually 
in the right place.

Remember, its ALL IN YOUR HEAD!!
