During a special luncheon with the Georgia Chiropractic Convention .. 10/25/02 .. the ACA national president, ACA chairman, and Dr. Schmidt (new Life U president) were the guests. Questions were submitted to the speakers, and most were for Dr. Schmidt. Thought you might like to know the gist of some of them, and his answers.... 1:Why did Life U lose it's accreditation? „The university was not philosophically mainstream." 2: What about the students? „The last 4 quarter's will be affected the worst." He says that he has spoken with almost all of them and their parents, and he truly seems emotionally troubled by their demise. He figures the lower quarter students will hang on, as he expects to have the university re-accredited. However, he also said he can understand if some leave. 3: Will the board that hired you allow you to do the things that need to be done {even if it goes against what used to be the norm} „I have the job right now, and I'm gonna do it" 4: The new ACA chair posed point-blank questions about the previous inability for ACA/GCA to have a presence on the Life U campus. There was a little bit of tension in the air. Dr. Schmidt responded that he basically wants to meld the 2 philosophical branches, so that rather than all the in-house bickering amongst the profession, there is a further advancement of Chiropractic as a whole. He said "we are now open to the ACA." He also said that he hates politics, and it is not his strong point.
