Are you a philosophically BJ Chiropractor E-mail message this week .. Getting Back To Basics I am winding down this quarters LUCC PEAK student program and discussing with my student intern the steps to create a successful new practice prior to her graduating in a few weeks and joining our honored ranks. By the way, if you are a DC looking for a great associate in Virginia, she has my highest endorsement, just reply back for details. If only it was so simple to lay out successful steps and walk away and come back with it all in place. Too simple maybe, but whether we like it or not, we need to be prepared for success with everything in place so confidence is at its peak and action is taken to assure the community knows we exist. Step back a bit and close your eyes and remember your first steps out of Chiropractic College. What did you do to get going or are you still trying to find out. Where did you turn for advice, gather data to sign that first lease or agree to be an independent contractor or work as an associate with hopefully a fair contract. What steps did you put in place to create community awareness and how successful has it been since. What pieces of the puzzle did you use from diagnostic to adjusting tools. Are the forms you used still being used or have you tweaked them after finding them too overwhelming or not whelming enough. What educational tools were in place to create chiropractic awareness and referral mentality such as visual or written media and how were staff chosen and put up to speed? Wow, a lot to think about, and a lot to be done but if any were missed, misused or misplaced, results are what you see, hit or miss or right on target. Doctor, imagine if you will with the years behind your belt, if you were able to do it again, what would be different. The PEAK program gives you this opportunity to step back and review your procedures, where you slacked off and through the eyes and ears of another, make the changes you wished you did. Your alma mater may offer a similar program, just ask. For details about the Life University PEAK program, I recommend you contact Dr. John Markham at john.markham@life.edu PEAK mentors doctors are worldwide. I am familiar with a unique program for new doctors or DC's needing to jumpstart their practice, the Practice Starters with Fernandez Consulting: www.drfernandez.com or call 1-800-882-4476. They coach the new graduate from choosing the proper clinic location, clinic design, rental contracts, advertising, marketing and the successful steps from soup to nuts. Timely statistics are reviewed and follow through phone consultations allow either a mild tweak or overhauling failing or enhancing winning actions. Other consultants offer similar programs, check their websites found on my webpage under weblinks: www.chirosmart.net Getting Back To Basic once in awhile is a good thing Have a Great Day Dr. M PS .. register for the Personal Injury seminar at the next Fernandez Seminar in Atlanta, March 12 and 13.
