Awareness In case you have forgotten the one item that boosted the world of Walmart above all other retail outlets, it was a person dedicated to a specific factor and used without fanfare, great cost or training and that was the Greeter. What a concept, to greet the customer and let them know that service was above everything else and it started with their store entrance, "Welcome to Walmart." The same is true for our front desk staff. Since it's difficult or near impossible to make a first impression a second time, we must hire and train our compassionate CA to answer the phone with service gleaming from their mouth welcoming all new patients to our office. This is their first meeting and impression with the office and enhances further the same experience for the established patient hopefully stimulating referrals. What a concept, Welcome to the Office and it goes up from there. Doctor, 2009 will be a challenging year for our community and us. Whether you like it or not, recent retail sales have shown a definite trend, people will spend but they first question their purchase and are holding back from the sale. In 2009, value will be most prominent as the why and because of the sale will trump the old emotional purchase. The same is true for our sales, patient care. As I have written numerous times before, education and a clear appreciation of their problem and your specific solutions will be paramount now and forever. This is nothing new, but just like service, we get complacent and forget to dot the i's and cross the t's, leaving sound procedures and office policies behind until we see patients trickling out the back door leaving our numbers in decline. Time to wake up is now. I suggest, during this holiday lull, you think seriously about your practice future and the plans and goals for the next twelve months. Talk to your team and get their feedback for all the stops and barricades that may prevent growth or referrals. Who amongst them are complacent, where laziness has entrapped practice procedures and where the cracks are concerning patient management. Naturally, the first place to look is the mirror, as you are probably guilty of it all, but besides you, how can every aspect of practice management carry you further and be utilized in a cost effective manner. If your practice is amongst the chosen excelling above all others, look carefully to streamline and make it even more efficient, there is always room for more. Awareness is the key for the New Year bringing with it a renewed spirit to excel and increase your goals and aspirations. Doctor, sit down, grasp a pen, a chart your future. Your staff, patients and community depend on it. Best of the Holiday Spirit Dr. M Postings: Dr. Joel E. Reply to: LEAHCHIRO@aol.com DC is seeking advice to legally hold accountable pharmaceutical company Rhogam: I was hoping to put out to the universe the possibility of anyone knowing of an attorney willing to take on Big Pharma. Specifically, the company who made the Rhogam shot from the early 1990's and the hospital that forced my wife to get it that I suspect caused my son's brain damage. I tried to get a response from NVIC and David Kirby (evidence of harm) but no luck. My wife was literally taken into a room away from me and coerced into getting it after the birth of my first son. 9 months later we conceived our 2nd son. After trying to understand how our perfect, non-vaccinated baby did not talk and became autistic, we had a MRI done that showed he had poor myelination of his brain (ie. Mercury poisoning). I am absolutely convinced that it was from the Rhogam. Thanks for any help .. you may word this as you wish.
