Attorney Alliances I had the privilege to speak to a group of chiropractors and staff during the Fernandez Seminar in Atlanta last week. I enjoy sharing ideas with doctors eager to expand their horizons and to meet and greet many who receive these weekly e-mails. The topic for the weekend was having a successful Personal Injury practice or at least to know how best to help your patients, their attorneys, insurance companies and yourself. The nuances of a PI practice is no different than your everyday practice but the game plan differs greatly requiring the t's crossed and the i's dotted from day one. Considering the possibility of litigation, reports, testifying and waiting payment creates the need to be ready from the start and be prepared for the finish. One of my classes was titled: Making PI Easier. Being prepared is step one and the office receptive to helping the injured and able to address the needs of patient, insurance carriers and attorney will have as part of the dynamics of their office a very ethical, lucrative and profitable practice. So if you are ready, let's start at the beginning finding those that can help you reach those in most need of an adjustment, rehabilitative services and hands on care, people in auto accidents. The attorney specializing in personal injury is generally not sleazy as portrayed in movies; they are grunts like us trying to make a buck helping people in need. If you accept the premise that an auto injury causes little to no personal injury, than you can stop reading now. But, if you were in an auto injury today, no matter the dynamics, would you not seek an adjustment from a colleague as soon as possible and stay on a schedule to stabilize the spinal insult? I hope you would. So, for the person injured and confused and attempting to justify how this happened, an attorney may be there to guide them through the morass and hopefully to you for specific conservative care. Remember, the attorney is useless without a doctor's diagnosis, prognosis and treatment notes and bills. You the doctor guide and control the care not them. The attorney that does is not the one I'd work with. Often the injured seek an attorney even before a doctor. They may have found the attorney on a phone book cover, bus billboard, highway sign, television commercial or a direct mailer as marketing for them is as important as marketing for us. Their new client may live or work near you or you may have unique skills that would benefit their clients more. How do they know that about you, by the simple process of reaching out through your Community Outreach Program. Start a telephone campaign calling yellow page listing for personal injury attorneys collecting names, addresses, numbers, e-mail address and webpage. Don't forget their paralegals and send your office material via snail mail and timely topical e-mails concerning personal injury to your attorney list. Meet and greet and ultimately present a Soft Tissue Injury workshop to your local attorneys, which is a grand way to share your knowledge and have them feel comfortable with your expertise. Looking for an Attorney Workshop on Powerpoint, look no further than the one I've used and created. You can find this and my other Powerpoint workshops in my webstore: www.chirosmart.net/shop Click on the learn more and view the first twelve slides of each presentation.
