Dr. M, I: My first ever screening was performed last Sunday at the local YMCA. I followed the steps in Smart Start, from the initial contact with the Y, to the script in the screening, compliments of David Singer. I'm happy to say that 6 people signed up for in-office exams for this week! One of those 6 brought her husband in and they both started care today! Thanks Dr. M and Smart Start! P.S. I've raised $35 for the YMCA, from 3 patients that have already come in. II: I talked to my local bank about doing a screening there. They like the idea, but want a formal proposal on paper. Do you have a professional/formal proposal in your "archives"? A: Purpose: To assist our community neighbors with Conservative Wellness Programs As part of our Community Outreach, we set aside time each month to assist our local neighbors with their Wellness Programs. These include Postural and Stress Management Evaluations, Ergonomic Workshops and others. There is never a fee for these programs although they may be in conjunction with a local charity. Postural and Stress Evaluations: Depending on location these may include hands on screenings and/or an information area. Space needed is a desk with one or two chairs. Ergonomic Workshops: These include 45 minute classes concerning various aspects of stress on the job. Our most popular workshop is Staying Fit While You Sit. This program is geared for clerical and customer service employees. This program discusses structural chronic Wear and Tear (Accumulative Stress Disorders) including Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Our other popular workshop is Safety in the Workstation. This is geared to material handlers and discusses proper lifting and back safety tips. Please call our office to schedule your program.
