I feel a little funny about using church for business maybe I just need to get used to the idea. I'm interested in someone who has already done this and flyers and letters that have been used for this purpose. A: Thanks for the reply. The church program should not be looked upon as solicitation. You should establish a Community Outreach Program from your office and through these community efforts reach out to various members of your community. If you have on going promotional programs you will eventually reach out to places that have readily available people with needs and concerns. The church program is plugged into the Community Alliance Group. As an active member of your community you will attempt to reach people by taking part within their own outreach programs. many church and civic organizations have weekly programs for senior citizens .. parents without partners .. mother's morning out etc. I would call the local churches and determine the name of their social or program chairperson. Send them or call them and discuss your availability to provide timely workshops concerning Aging Gracefully .. Stress management etc. Once you have these folks agreeing that you can be an advocate for their social groups ask them if they would wish to participate within your monthly Community Outreach Program .. such as Municipal Works Day .. Secretary Day etc. In this regard .. you invite members of their church to your office for complimentary evaluations. Usually you can ask those that attend to donate money or goods to some church charity. The programs has some basic rules: The minister .. priest .. rabbi must endorse the program and write this on a church letterhead. The church must provide you with their church letterhead envelope and they must provide their mailing list. The script goes like this: "To make this a most effective program .. it is important that your parishioners receive the mailing from a church envelope. The first letter they will read upon opening the letter is an endorsement from the minister. The leter will simply recommend the event for those that see the need and thank us for our endeavor as well as mentioning the donantion for a church charity. I will send the flyer from our office to you for your approva which will also be in the envelope. Our office will print extra copies of the church envelope or pay for them as a donation. To make this as effective as possible, we will mail these to your church mailing list. If you are uncomfortable providing us with this list, I am willing to pay $25 to a needy person of your church to label the envelopes. The flyer will outline the benefits and the donantion and the special event date. I know you will be happy with this community program." Work with these words and set a date and invite them in. This works for large companies or specific worker groups. Look this over and e-mail me if there are any further questions.
