Start your week with equipment failures .. staff crisis or a financial crunch when limited funds reached its very last limit? These are personal and professional challenges. We can all write a chapter concerning one challenge or another. We either meet it head on .. linger or tumble. As chiropractors we are faced with professional and purposeful challenges all the time. The miracle of our work is derived from the fact that we offer no chemical analgesics and no surgical intervention .. we only remove nerve interference. We adjust to reduce neurological pressure resulting in aberrant functional behavior and dysfunction. It truly is a challenge to wait and watch as the body heals naturally and with encouragement our patients hopefully will make some lifestyle changes assisting in further stabilization and healing. So .. this is the big picture. It is a challenge to stay the course and work with the difficult patient and with office upsets. It is a challenge to weather the economic storms that eventually will pass through fertilizing a greener tomorrow. I challenge each of you to recommit to your purpose as chiropractors .. whether you are straight .. blender .. mixer is immaterial for this forum .. but adjust we all profess to do. Challenge your staff towards increased patient service and assisting in practice growth as the more people you see the more people you help. Challenge your family to increase the bonding and endorse a commitment to be all you can be as a family .. there is no higher gift than this. Challenge your skills to increase in proficiency and application. Challenge your colleagues to overcome their individual challenges and offer to share with them. I welcome a good challenge and look forward to reaching beyond my comfort zone to overcome. Writing these weekly e-mails and answering the many e-mail questions I receive is a daily challenge that I enjoy .. it reinforces my purpose and encourages me to reach my potential. So .. accept the difficult case .. the staff upsets and even the unrelenting bills as a test to meet and overcome. You can do it and grow even stronger .. thatžs the ultimate challenge.
