Atlanta is anticipating an ice and snow storm which will hit tomorrow this same time. I was ill prepared for last weekend¼s ice storm .. snapping tree branches onto electrical wires forcing my and many other families to be in the dark for two days and two cold heatless nights. Now .. I have a day to prepare. Nature has its own timetable and possible events require a probable response. Likewise .. the business of chiropractic requires probable responses to ward off the ebb and flow of practice energy. I love Home Depot or Lowes as a store and stock. These institutions are recession proof. Does great with a great economy and just as great during a down economy. People will either purchase new or fix what they have. Is your practice recession proof .. managed care proof .. can it weather the storms and go with the ebb and flow? Last weekend I was privileged to attend a Fernandez Discipline Seminar .. quite a number of doctors and staff attended from many states. The material discussed was covered by many other consultants and seminar teachers throughout the world of chiropractic as a means to give us a head start with the probables. Practice management .. practice maintenance .. practice promotion .. practical technic review .. practically everything you needed to know but either forgot or never knew. I recommend forming mastermind groups and attending seminars held in your town or close by. I encourage those of you with limited business sense or faltering in practice to find a mentor and ask for help. I hope those of us that have the ability to help others find time to assist our colleagues who ask. Big Brothers and Big Sisters .. a Big Heart for all.
